Naomi wrote in her memoirs that the wedding was to be at 7 pm, but George missed his connecting train due to the heavy snow, and was 5 hours late. Naomi said that she couldn't sit down during all that time, so as not to wrinkle her wedding dress! George was a Methodist minister with his first assignment being the church at Fairmount GA. His records of weddings, etc, performed during 30 years of travels throughout North Georgia are posted here.
